We are Margie and Tim, (almost) full-time nomads, storytellers, and seekers of the “awesome” in the Australian wilderness.
We aim to inspire others to say ‘yes’ to adventure, to leave their comfort zone in the pursuit of finding new experiences. By blending storytelling with history and geographical information, we want to take you on an adventure through time.
How did it all start?
Is there ever a perfect time to pack up everything you own, Tetris it into a tin can and head off into the sunset? Everyone has their own reason to pack up and chase ‘the dream’. For us, it was a chance to escape the norm. With a special needs child, the norm no longer worked for us.
But somewhere along the corrugated roads, the trip changed. We stopped just looking at the landscape and curiosity got the better of us. Why are there fossilized sea shells in the middle of the desert? Why are the Snow Gums turning silver? Who walked these tracks 60,000 years ago?

We realized that the best adventures aren’t just about where you go—they’re about what you learn when you get there.
Meet the Team:
Margie Pumpa | Writer Environmental Journalist & National Geographic Contributor
Margie is driven by curiosity and her love of finding unique adventures. She enjoys hiking remote walks, diving into the history and uncovering the best stories. Her work brings the hidden corners of the Australian outback to a global audience.
Tim Pumpa | Photographer & Logistics Expedition Photographer
Tim makes the mission possible. He handles the photography and preparation. Whether it’s securing the Starlink dish in a dust storm or navigating a technical 4WD track, Tim ensures we can live, work, and file stories from the edge of the map.
Our Van
We live and work out of our self-sufficient off-grid caravan. It’s our home, our office and our comfort in the middle of nowhere. We can stay on-site for weeks, collecting data for the best stories.
